cumulative? If I had 3k timeouts on a Friday, and now things are back to normal, will I see a decrease in timeouts?
For the most part, the metrics data is cumulative for the life of the JVM.
In relation to your question on timeouts, you won't see the statistics increase when "things are back to normal" but they will not decrease. The counters get reset to zero when Cassandra is restarted. Cheers!
