What is the reason behind removal of DSE Tiered Storage in future versions?

Hi guys,

I've read that DSE tiered storage feature will be removed in future versions. What's the reason behind that?

Also, will you add some new "similar" feature to migrate the tiered storage?

Hi @jonasmartinpico_114991,

yes, as of DSE 6.8, tiered storage has been deprecated and will be removed in future versions. As far as I know the adoption of the feature was limited, sorry to hear that you will be affected by this decision.

What version of DSE are you using currently?

Tiered storage is supported in the LTS release DSE 5.1, which will be supported until 2024.

if you have a license to use DSE in production, please also open a ticket with DataStax support, for a dialog dedicated to your specific situation.
