What type of install? Package or tarball? By default on package install /var/lib/cassanda/data has 755 permission so anyone should be able to see the files. Tarball installs, you would set the permissions of the directory for the user that you are starting DSE with. If a tarball who is the user that DSE was started with? Are you able to the user running DSE or use sudo to see permissions?
@mandardotkulkarni_162904 If you installed DSE as a package, the files should be owned by the cassandra
user.
For tarball installations, you will need to create the /var/lib/cassandra
directory yourself with ownership and permissions you've setup. Cheers!
