Is there a way to get alert on Alwayson-SQL is up or not.
Either from Opscenter or do I just need to set up manually a cronjob to verify the status.

You can't get alerts from OpsCenter for AOSS.
You can check the status by running this command from any node running in Analytics mode:
$ dse client-tool alwayson-sql restart
Alternatively, you can see the status of the service by browsing to the web UI on port 9077 of an Analytics node with AOSS enabled.
You can setup alerting from your own monitoring tools. Cheers!
