For getting video titles and release dates by genre, why don't we simply create a table with genre as the partition key and video title and release date as the unique key ?
This way we can query the list by genre.

Specifically, what did you mean by "unique key"? Partition keys are unique identifiers of partitions in a table so you question is confusing. Cheers!
