I'm new to GitHub. How do I download the notebook? What do I do with it?
Here are the steps for correctly downloading the workshop notebooks from GitHub and uploading them to Studio.
We publish notebooks as tape archive files (*.tar) at https://github.com/DataStax-Academy/cassandra-workshop-series. These notebook tar files are stored in the notebooks/
folder of each workshop.
For example, week 1 of the workshop series included a "Working with CQL" notebook (3_-_Working_with_CQL.tar). To download this tar file, click on the Raw button:
In order to do the exercises for the workshops, you will need to launch Developer Studio:
Step 1 - Go to DataStax Astra.
Step 2 - Click on your killrvideo database.
Step 3 - Click the Launch Now link to launch Developer Studio:
Step 4 - Once you've launched Studio, click on the Add a Notebook icon (with a big + sign):
Step 5 - Click on the Upload tab to upload the notebook tar file you downloaded:
If you've followed these steps correctly, you should be able to start working on the exercises in the notebook. Good luck!
