During gossip communication does nodes keep meta data information in memory (cache etc ) or at disk ?
Nodes hold gossip information both in memory and on disk in the system.peers
table.
By persisting information about its peers in a table, a node can determine its neighbours and the cluster topology quick after it has been restarted.
For more info, see Internode communications.
