Icons are not persisted for the entire graph/notebook

This is a follow-up question for the following question[1]

If I understood it correctly, the following message means that any icon settings will be saved for the entire notebook and graph under that connection, but that does not seem to be the case in my experience.




When I set the icons, they are usually saved for the current cell rather than all the cells for the notebook. I often see myself having to change the icons again and it becomes a little tedious.


Unless I misinterpreted the first image, I don't believe that this behavior is expected.


Is it possible to persist the icons for the entire notebook? The only option I saw is to persist labels but not the icons

So I reproduced this behaviour on my station and can tell you:

  • Icons are persisted for the entire graph/notebook
  • .. But you have to be explicit on each result that you want a Vertex Shape display as ICON and not default DOT. If you pick icon then you get the preset icons you defined before.

@Cedrick Lunven is correct so I accepted the answer. I also went and re-verified this on my end. Once you set your icons just be sure to set the Vertex Shape to "Icon" for any cells you want this applied to.
