Does write operation is allowed in cassandra while a sanpshot process is running?
Snapshots are just links to files, which literally takes seconds (of course depending on the number of files being linked). But the answer is yes. Taking a snapshot has no effect on the writes/reads, they are totally different operations that are not at all dependent on each other.
Yes, writes can take place at the same time as snapshots because they are independent of each other.
This is possible because Cassandra is an "always-on" database -- there are no offline operations even with upgrades. Cheers!
