How do I verify when the service for a DSE 4.6 node went down?

DSE cassandra version 4.6.5 service down ,

We have 06 nodes of which 02 nodes seen as down with "nodetool status" , if I look at system.log file i don't see any ERROR message , but i could see compaction INFO written on 2021-01-10 like below .

I donot see/have debug.log or gc log files under /var/lig/cassandra but only see system.log , how will I decide(come to know) on what specific day Cassandra service went down because last message written on 10th of Jan but i am checking the system.log file on 21st Jan , since Service was down i just started the dse service(service dse start)

The debug.log only gets written for Cassandra 3.x versions of newer. It doesn't exist for DSE 4.6 since it ships with Cassandra 2.1.

You will need to review the logs on the node including the archived versions (zipped) to determine when the service became unavailable.

For the record, I'm not asking for the logs. I'm just giving you pointers on how to investigate. Please log a ticket with DataStax Support if you need assistance. Cheers!
